Daniel L. Herrlinger
Daniel L. Herrlinger, 52, of New Tripoli, died Monday, December 31, 2012 in his home after a courageous battle with Pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of Justine A. (Hartman) Herrlinger. The couple celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary last June 20. Born in Sellersville, December 27, 1960, Dan was the son of Shirley Schwager of Red Hill and John Herrlinger and his wife, Mae, of Perkasie. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era. Dan was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for the last 10 years. Prior to that, he worked for the former Wolff/SMD Petroleum Co. for many years. He also was a part-time bus driver for Bieber Tourways. Dan was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Slatington and a former volunteer at Northwestern Ambulance Corp, New Tripoli. Dan will be always remembered for his great sense of humor, his ability to make people laugh, and his unsolicited opinions. Survivors: In addition to his wife and parents; children, Stephanie A. Quier and her husband, Christopher, of Hamburg, Daniel L. Herrlinger II and his wife, Candace, of Alburtis, Holly L. Rainey and her husband, Michael, of Slatington; brother, John Herrlinger, Jr. of Michigan; sister, Debbie Spear of Quakertown; granddaughter, Ella; several nieces and nephews. Services: A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. David L. Hess officiating. Visitation period from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home. Private interment. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
