Bower, Sr., Earl AEarl A. "Reds" Bower, Sr., 81 of Alburtis, passed away Sunday March 23, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Geraldine D. (Kuhns) Bower. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in May. Earl fought a long hard battle with cancer for the last 6 years. He was born on October 13, 1932, in Alburtis, to the late Harry and Clara (Kaiser) Bower. Living his entire life in the small borough of Alburtis, he enjoyed stock car racing, working on pit crews, as well as camping with his family and finally spending many years repairing bicycles for the local community children. Earl was stationed in Alaska with U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. He retired from Allen Organ in 1998 as a supervisor having worked there for 43 years. He was a member of Cedar United Church of Christ, Cetronia, Alburtis Rod and Gun Club and a past member of the Alburtis Fire Department. Text Survivors: Wife, Geraldine D. of Alburtis; sons Earl A. "Buddy" Jr., and his wife Cindy of Kutztown; Scott A. and his wife Karen of Cetronia; daughters, Cheryl wife of Ronald Haring of Allentown; Crystal wife of Steven Romano of Mertztown; brother Billy of Topton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Earl was predeceased by his parents, 6 brothers, 2 sisters, 4 half brothers and 3 half sisters. Services: Services: 10:30 am Thursday, March 27, 2014, Schmoyer Funeral Home 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville. Burial with military honors, Cedar Cemetery.
