Francis Broderick
Francis J. Frank Broderick, 79, of North Catasauqua, passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at home. Frank was the husband of Marlene (Kindt) Broderick and they would have celebrated their 52nd anniversary this December. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late John C. and Mildred I. (OHearn) Broderick. Frank was an engineering clerk for Mack Trucks, Inc., in Allentown for 30 years and was a member of UAW #677, prior to retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church in North Catasauqua. Frank served his country as a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Additionally, Frank was a member of the Men of Malvern, and was a life member of the Hokendauqua Fire Club. Survivors: Surviving with his wife, Marlene; is his son, Matthew T. Broderick Sr. and his spouse Charlotte of Cherryville; and his daughter, Sandra wife of John Verbos Jr. of Hanover Twp.; a brother, John and spouse Elsie of Inverness, FL; Frank is survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Broderick and spouse Alexandria, Matthew T. Broderick Jr. and spouse Sarah, and John Verbos III; and his great-granddaughter, Lydia Broderick. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. in his church. Calling will be from 9-10:30 a.m. in the ODonnell Funeral Home, 1064 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to his church.
