Kanaiyalal S. Amin
Kanaiyalal S. Amin, 90, of Easton, PA, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013, in Easton Hospital. Kanaiyalal was born in Karamsad, India, a son of the late Somabhai and Dahiben (Patel) Amin. Kanaiyalal was married to the late Hansaben (Patel) Amin, before her passing in 2009. He was a pharmacist and proprietor for several pharmaceutical businesses in Nairobi, Kenya, before retiring in 1990. Kanaiyalal served as Chairman for the Lions Club for Nairobi Gigiri several years ago. He was a past president of the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association, and was a representative of the Kenya International Pharmaceutical Association. Kanaiyalal was instrumental in helping to start the college of Pharmacy in Nairobi, Kenya. He served as chairman of the Hindu council of Nairobi, and was a First Fellow of the Royal College of Pharmacy of Great Britain from Kenya. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Mason. Survivors: Kanaiyalal is survived by sons, Dr. Atul Amin and wife Patrice of Easton, Dr. Devendra Amin and wife Bhamini of Easton, Dr. Paresh Patel and wife Kirti of Los Angeles, CA, Pankaj Patel and wife Ragini of Orlando, FL; daughter, Kalpana Patel and husband Amrish of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Nishali, Natessa, Deven, Nikesh, Rakesh, and Anessa Amin, Alpesh, Hemali, Nimish, Amish, Riten, Priya, and Vikesh Patel; great-grandchildren, Aleena and Jaden Patel. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Mayur Patel; a brother; and three sisters. Services: Public calling hours will be held on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., immediately followed by the Hindu Puja in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St., Easton, PA (Palmer Twp).
