Lillian Motta Harte
Lillian Motta Harte, a former long-time resident of Quakertown, PA, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012, in Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown. Born on December 2, 1919 in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evangeline (Rezendes) Motta. She was raised on Cape Cod in the town of Falmouth, the daughter of a home builder and grocery store owner. She graduated from Falmouth High School in 1937 and worked as a secretary at Otis Army Base. There she met her future husband, Milton D. Harte, and, soon after becoming a war bride, moved to Quakertown. She raised one daughter, Carol, while working as a secretary at the Quakertown Borough Hall and then finishing out her career, working for her late husband in his accounting business. Lillian belonged to the Quakertown United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed serving as a greeter. She was a good bridge and pinochle player and loved the movies. She was an outstanding baker and cook and loved cooking for her family and friends. Most of all, Lillian loved her family and providing a warm and comfortable home. She was a devoted wife, and wonderful mother and grandmother. Her lifes joy was her family. Survivors: She is survived by her daughter, Carol H. Klaus and her husband, Robert of Alamo, CA; two granddaughters, Elissa Klaus of Solana Beach, CA, and Erica Stary and her husband, Creed of Redwood City, CA; and her much-loved great-granddaughter, Fiona Harte Stary. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Motta. Services: Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in St. Stephens United Church of Christ Cemetery, Perkasie. www.suessfuneralhome.net.
