Lois K. Gibson, 62, of Lenhartsville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of William Gibson, with whom she shared over 44 years of loving marriage. Born in Hazelton, she was the daughter of Rae Phyllis (Pfeiffer) Carson of Bethlehem and the late David Carson, Jr. She earned her Bachelors Degree from Moravian College and two Masters Degrees from Lehigh University, as well as her principal certification. She loved to teach and she worked for many years in the East Penn and Bethlehem Area school districts. She also taught for Wilkes University. Lois was a former member of St. Stephens Evangelical Lutheran church, where she had been the church organist for many years. She enjoyed quilting and gardening and was very dedicated to her family. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors: Husband, William; son, William Gibson, Jr. and his wife Jeanette of Jim Thorpe; daughters, Lora Ferguson of Post Falls, ID, Rebekah Helverson and her husband Barry of Lenhartsville; brother, James Carson and his wife Beverly of Bethlehem; five grandchildren. Services: Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem 18018, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services.
