Louise M. Haddad
Louise M. Haddad, 99, of Allentown, died December 22, 2012 in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Elias J. Haddad. Louise was employed in her fathers and familys business, Lehigh Optical Co., in Allentown for 40 years, retiring in 1981. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Anna (Guldner) Faust. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. At the church, she served as a deacon, a life member of the Presbyterian Women in the Allentown church and in the Lehigh Presbytery, served on the social justice and peacemaking committees in the Presbytery, and a member of the Church Women United Board. She was a volunteer at Daybreak, at the soup kitchen, at the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank, and was a former member of the Food Bank Board. During WWII, she volunteered 1,000 hours as a Red Cross nurses aide at the Allentown General Hospital, 17th and Chew Sts. Survivors: Daughter, Nancy E., wife of Richard J. Snyder, of Allentown; brother, E. Joseph Faust of Saratoga, CA; and grandchildren, Steven Snyder and Eric Snyder. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Louise; and a sister, Betty Faust. Services: Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts., Allentown. Call Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
