Margaret I. Eckert
Margaret I. Eckert, 87, of Allentown passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late George F. Eckert. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Cunningham) Austin. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker R.C. Church in Orefield and a former member of St. Thomas More R.C. Church Allentown. Margaret was a homemaker for many years before being employed at the Brass Rail and Western Salisbury Elementary School. She was involved with the Girl Scouts Great Valley Council. Survivors: Daughters, Maureen wife of Jerome Satterlee, Mary Ellen wife of Jeffrey Dischinat; son, Dan J. and wife Robyn all of Allentown; sisters, Aileen Heck and Mary Hannon both of Wilkes-Barre, and Elizabeth wife of Vincent McEvoy of Maryland; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Edward F.; and grandchildren, Kelly Satterlee and Michael Eckert. Services: Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at St. Joseph the Worker R.C. Church, 1879 Applewood Dr., Orefield. Calling 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Friday in the Church.
