Mark R. Rehrig
Mark R. Rehrig, 84, of 96 Blue Mountain Road, Ashfield, PA passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 7 at The Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Mildred C. Kershner Rehrig. They were married for 61 years last July 4, 2009. Born in East Penn Township, he was a son of the late Calvin and Hattie Nothstein Rehrig. Prior to retirement, Mark was employed at Sears & Roebuck at their main service center in Catsauqua, PA. He was a member of Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church, Ashfield where he sang on the church choir, taught Sunday School, and served with the 60 and up Elders. He was a member of The Sears Retirees Club, and donated a large portion of his life to The East Penn Township Volunteer Fire Co. where he held a Life Membership and served as Captain of The Fire Police. He held memberships in The PA State Fire Police Association and also the Carbon County Fire Police Association and in his spare time enjoyed being an outdoorsman during hunting & fishing seasons. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Mildred; one daughter, Nina Rehrig of Allentown; two sons, David and his wife Dolores of Tallahassee, Florida, Scott and his wife Alice of Walnutport; one brother, Clair and his wife Eva Jane of Cherryville; six Grandchildren, Andrea Mickus, Stephanie Mickus, Steven Rehrig, Michelle Rehrig, Michael Rehrig, Christopher Rehrig; Nieces; and Nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dale and two sisters, Ellen Youse, and Ruth Knepper. Services: A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Monday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at Dinkey Memorial Luthean Church, 1742 Dinkey Rd. Ashfield, PA with the Reverend Anthony P. Pagotto officiating. Call 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. The interment will follow the services in the parish cemetery. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made the church at 18212. The Andrew P. Ovsak FH, Lehighton is in charge of the arrangements.
