Melvin A. Dilliard, Jr., 76, of Lower Nazareth Township, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 in his home in Promised Land, Pike County. He was the husband of Elaine Sis (Buss) Dilliard. They celebrated 57 years of marriage in September. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Melvin A. Dilliard, Sr. and Bertha (Sterner) Dilliard. He was a graduate of Wilson Area High School. As a young man he worked at the Green Pond Country Club Golf Course. He also worked for C. B. Haney as a project estimator and until retiring, he was part owner of Beth-Hanover Supply Co. Melvin was a member of the Shrine Club of Bethlehem, Rajah Temple Shrine, H. Stanley Goodwin Lodge #648 F&AM of Bethlehem, The Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Lehigh Consistory-Valley of Allentown and the Elks in Bangor. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, snowmobiling, Antique Car Club/Car Shows, car racing, Willys Car Club and L.V. Grasshoppers golf league. Melvin spent many hours restoring his 1940 prize winning Willys. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was a member of Dryland U.C.C in Nazareth. Survivors: Melvin will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Elaine; daughter, Lynn Ann Post and her husband Norman of Bethlehem; son, Chris Dilliard and his wife Marilyn of Chapman; grandchildren, Stacy Dyer, Jessica Zito, Brian Mansfield and Jennie Mansfield; and five great-grandchildren. Services: Calling hours will be held 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 8 with Masonic Services at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., all in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem.
