Nick was a great influence on my life path. I used to live a few blocks from Dreamscape (no accident there) and I used to feel at home in that space, and I used to enjoy talking with Nick and Jeanne. A favorite memory of mine was Nick chiding me about buying a whole bunch of "New 52" first issues, "you sure are jumping into this relaunch with reckless abandon." I told him that I hope it's an investment, and more importantly I hope they are GOOD. Most were not. Nick was very wise to the comics industry, and I miss his knowledge and stories. Nick and Jeanne established what I considered a true local staple in Bethlehem. I have now finished a masters degree in Sequential Art, without Nick, I may not have pursued, so I thank him for inspiring and providing outlet for my younger self.

Nick was working at Patty's back at IUP when we first met. He was one of the most accepting and positive individuals that I have ever met and a pleasure to talk to...a very cerebral talker. I have to say that he is one guy that I count among a select few people that really influenced me in a very profound way...and I will miss him...I wish I could have seen him once more before his passing...RIP Nick...I would like to dedicate a submission that I made as a group project a few years ago...in his name, for Nick: The Sandlot http://www.facebook.com/groups/70817065489/permalink/10150643360325490/

Nick was kind, smart and playful. He was that way when I met him while running at IUP back in 1982...and hadn't changed at all when I met him again at Dreamscape last year about thirty years later. After we caught up a bit, he was kind enough to invite me to join Jeanne and few of his friends after work for dinner. It was a nice meal with great fellowship...and Nick's laughter. Got a hilarious email from him back in July. I was looking forward to reconnecting more with him. He was good person with a great heart. He lived life on his own terms. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jeanne and his family.

As a Bethlehem local living on the westside, when Dreamscape first opened it's doors I was a Friday regular. My pay was small in those days none the less I left about 80% of my earnings with Nick. I miss those days, rest
peace Nick.

Dear Jeanie and Family,
As a fellow "store owner" I naturally felt a kinship with Nick and enjoyed more than a few erudite conversations about music and small business. Nick was a good man and one of the few people outside my immediate circle whose opinion I always valued. Laurice and I have been stunned by your loss and hope that there is some way we can be of help to you. Our very deepest condolences.

I always thought that nick was the type of person who would live forever because he was so laid back. He was unpretentious, honest and open about his interests and concerns. He was a great audience. You were sure to get one of his delightful laughs after you shared a humorous story with him. My only regret is that I did not have the opportunity to share more time with Nick.

In the very short time that I knew Nick, I felt like he and Jeanne left such a great impact on me. It seemed like every time I came into the store there would always be something to chat about with the two of them, and I would always leave with a smile. Although it was such a small thing I can honestly say I looked forward to coming in every week just to pick up my books and talk to them for a few brief minutes.
I am deeply sorry that he's gone now, and it hurts to think that I won't be able to get to know him better. I wish the best for all of his loved ones. Even though it was such a short time, I know that I will never forget him.
Thank you, Nick and Jeanne, for being such great people.

My thoughts go out to Jeanne, Nick's family and anyone else who had the pleasure of meeting or knowing him. He was always very kind and delighted to discuss comics with any customers in his shop.
To swing by on a Sunday afternoon and chat with Nick and Jeanne was a treat. I can't claim that I knew them personally, but they made me feel like I did.
I'll miss him.

To Jeanne and Nick's family, please accept my deepest, heart-felt condolences on your loss.
I was so very shocked to read the news of Nick's passing; it is a true loss to the entire community at large.
I have had the pleasure of having many conversations with Nick over the past few years, and he always brought something new to the table. Those times have been made more special to me now that we will no longer share that gift of gab. In some ways, I felt that if I could get him to laugh by making some ridiculous comment my work was done for the day.
I know he is up above having some new, wonderful conversations with the likes of Kane, Kirby, and the rest of the sequential storytellers who had gone before.
Excelsior Nick!

I'm so sorry to hear, Jeanne. I just found out today when I went to the door; just last week Nick left me a message to let me know the week's comics were delayed, which I really appreciated since he didn't have to do it. Things like that were what keep me going back to Dreamscape after 18 years and will continue to.

Jeannie,
All our love to you & the families. Nick wasn't just a comic store owner. He created a hub for like-minded, creative, funny people to meet around and share their stories. He sparked imaginations. He enabled friendships to form. I would never have met you, Bill, Jason, Josh, & The Squid boys had it not been for Nick. Vinnie Foti & I were saying how we could go months without running into each other socially, only to find ourselves simultaneously at Nick's store! The ripple of his influence cannot be measured. He will be remembered. And missed.

Nick was a great guy and always remembered me, even after I moved to DC and was unable to go to the comic book store. He would see me somewhere (once at Musikfest, once just on the street), remember my favorite comics, and let me know that I should stop in to say hi when I was in town.
