Paul D. Bertsch
Paul D. Bertsch, 91, of Emmaus, died March 16, 2013, in Devon House, surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of Lillian L. (Stevens) Bertsch. Born in Sigmunds, he was the son of the late William H. and Annie E. (Meitzler) Bertsch. He worked for Occidental Chemical, Pottstown, retiring in 1986. Previously he worked for Air Products and Chemicals. In retirement, he helped Mark Dutch Kistler Auctions. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Emmaus. He honorably served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a charter member of the Claude Fisher VFW, Emmaus, where he served on the firing squad of the Emmaus Veterans Committee, was a life member of the Mercantile Club of Emmaus, Fire Company #1 and #2, member of the Emmaus Historical Society, Emmaus Optimist Club, and Pikeville Sportsman Association. Survivors: Daughter, Lori L., wife of Stephen J. Kuzma of Bethlehem; grandsons, Steven Mack and Jason Mack and wife, Chloe; stepgrandchildren, Stephen Kuzma, Jr. and Nicole Kuzma. Services: Funeral services Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m., and Thursday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill.
