Ray J. Cuellar
Ray J. Cuellar, 85, of Bethlehem, went home to the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2014, while in the care of his family in his home. He was the devoted husband of Beverly J. (Davis) Cuellar. They celebrated 59 years of marriage in July of 2013. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Ramon and Natalia (Gutierrez) Cuellar. He left Liberty High School to enlist in the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed at Pearl Harbor, after the invasion, during World War II. He later received his honorary degree from Liberty. Ray worked at Bethlehem Steel as a craneman and in the Combination Mill, retiring after 48 years in 1987. He was a member and usher at Calvary Baptist Church in Bethlehem, the United Steelworkers of America and former member of the MORA Club. Survivors: His loving family includes his wife, Beverly; daughter, Brenda J. Kelly of Allentown, sisters, Marie Merkle and Sara Cuellar, both of Bethlehem; 2 grandchildren, Heather J. Nieves of Philadelphia and Justin R. Kelly, his wife, Debra and their daughters, Makayla and Sienna of Bethlehem. Ray was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Cuellar. Services: Funeral Services being held at 1 PM Monday, March 3, 2014 in Calvary Baptist Church, 5300 Green Pond Road, Easton 18045. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Sunday, March 2, 2014 in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem.
