Robert Edward Cloonan, Jr., 85, of Allentown, died February 27, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Evy I. (Nelson) Cloonan, they were married for 63 years on February 11. Robert was the owner of Medical Personnel Pool in Allentown for 40 years until retiring. Prior to that, he was a salesman for the Barrett Christie Company in Chicago. Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late Robert Edward Cloonan, Sr. and the late Helen (Dunham) Cloonan. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. He was an officer in the police departments of Roselle and Bloomingdale, IL. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Club and the American Legion. He was an avid hunter, nicknamed, Snake, in the Gomer Hunting Club, where he was a member. A boat owner, Robert loved the water. Survivors: Wife; daughter, Loretta; son, James; and grandchildren, Samantha, Kylie and Travis. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Cynthia.
