Robert E. Snyder, 94, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012. He was the devoted husband of Ruth C. Snyder, who passed away November 22, 2012. They were married for 69 years. He was born in Allentown, a son of the late Elmer and Margaret (Holtzman) Snyder. He was an Army Veteran and served in WW II from 1941 to 1945. After the war, he joined the Allentown Police Department and retired after 25 years as a lieutenant detective. Robert continued to work and later retired from the Morning Call. He was a member of the former St. Michael's Lutheran Church and the Nativity Lutheran Church of Allentown. Survivors: Daughters, Judith K. Hatami and her husband, Victor, of Island Heights, NJ, Beth A. Mohylsky and her husband, William, of Salisbury Twp.; a son, Scott R. Snyder and his wife, Corinne, of Upper Saucon Twp.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services: Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, December 14 in the Stephens Funeral Home Inc., 1335-37 Linden Street, Allentown, where friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Please share online condolences at www.stephensfuneral.com.
