Theodore H. Nagle, Jr.
Theodore H. Nagle, Jr., 82, of Nazareth, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 1, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Joan Kline Nagle. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Born July 14, 1931, in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Theodore, Sr., and Dorothy Marsh Nagle. Ted honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Nazareth High School and following school he was employed as a Nazareth police officer. Later Ted worked for the Nazareth Post Office, fondly known as the whistling mailman, retiring after 30 years of service. Ted was a family man, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nazareth, and a social member of the Vigilance Hose Fire Co. No. 1. Ted was especially proud that he was part of the crew that built the fire co. social hall. Survivors: In addition to his beloved wife, Joan, he is survived by one son, Richard T.; one daughter, Deborah Parenti and her husband Terry, all of Nazareth; grandchildren, Terri, Kevin, and Corinne Nagle, and twins Kellie and Cory Parenti; as well as one great-grandson, Sean Macikowycv. In addition, Ted is survived by one sister, Charmaine Ashenfalder; and his constant companion, his granddog, Penny. Services: Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 11 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, with the Rev. David B. Schaeffer presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth. Online condolences may be expressed at www.schmidtfuneralhomepc.com. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations, in honor of Ted, to St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad St., Nazareth, PA 18064, or to the Nazareth Area Food Bank, PO Box 178, Nazareth, PA 18064.

Joan and Family: It was such a shock to me to hear about Ted's death. When I saw him at our class reunion in October, he seemed so upbeat and I so enjoyed our conversation. I'm sure you remember all the good times we had together as teenagers and "Teddy" always made me laugh. So many fun things to remember when our "gang" would meet at Charlie's house and Teddy would do the cooking! And remember when you guys got your glasses mixed up? I guess that could have been the start of your romance with him. I will really miss him.

Debbie, Terry and children, deepest sympathy in the loss of your father, father-in-law and grandfather. It is certainly a shocked when one passes so suddenly but feel thankful he did not have to go through all kinds of suffering and that your family did not have to watch him. The love and memories you have shared will help you through this difficult time. Sincerely,
