Dr. Walter E. Sellers, 91, passed away May 9, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Sellers, married for 64 years. Dr. Sellers, born in Hollidaysburg, PA in 1921, graduated from High School there and then attended Washington & Jefferson College to attain a degree of B.S. He was taken into the Army of World War II and served in the 5th Army in Italy in the Military Mission to the Italian Army. Upon return to the U.S. he attended University of PA School of Dentistry to graduate with honors in 1952. There, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, National Honor Society, as a life member. Dr. Sellers and his wife moved to Allentown in 1953. He practiced Dentistry there for a period of 45 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of all local and State Dental Societies as well as the American Dental Assoc. now a life member. He was past president of the Allentown Exchange Club also an ardent golfer, boater, fisherman and hunter, a real lover of nature and the outdoors. As a golfer, he was a member of Brookside Country Club since 1953. Dr. Sellers was predeceased by Dr. J. Richard Sellers of California and Col. D. Edgar Sellers, Jr. of VA and by parents D. Edgar Sellers and Mabel Sellers of Hollidaysburg, PA. Survivors: Daughter, Patricia A. Sellers of New York, NY; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Hare of Altoona. Services: Funeral Services Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown. Viewing Sunday 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus and Monday 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
