Carl D. Yoder
Carl D. Yoder 80 years of Fullerton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 11, 2014 in Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Allentown to the late John K. and Marie F. (Minnich) Yoder, he was the husband of Arline E. (Kahn) Yoder for 58 years. A faithful member of St. Johns UCC Fullerton, he sang with the Chancel choir for over 25 years. A 1950 graduate of Allentown High School, he was a maintenance and construction supervisor for UGI over 43 years, retiring in 1998. Carl proudly served in Germany with the US Army during the Korean conflict, and was a member of the honor guard with the 1st Infantry in Normandy escorting the eternal flame. He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367. Dedicating his life to Scouting, he served as Scout Master for Troop 63 at his Church, was Chairman of the District Training and Program committees, and received numerous awards including the Silver Beaver award, four wood badge beads, and vigil honor Order of the Arrow. Survivors: beside his wife; Sons, Gordon A. and life partner Diana Schreiber of Kempton, Dale A. and his wife Laura of Lebanon, and Samuel A. and wife Adele of Nazareth; brother Robert K. Yoder in Utah; seven grandchildren; predeceased by son Daniel R. in 2008 and sister Jean D. Shoemaker. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in the Church, 575 Grape Street, Whitehall, PA 18052 where is viewing will begin at 9 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, Allentown. Contributions: Church Endowment Fund; The Gilbert Funeral Home of Whitehall is honored to handle his arrangements.
