Charles F. Hettenbach, Jr.
CSM (RET) Charles F. Hettenbach, Jr., 83, of Whitehall, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014, in Whitehall Manor. He was the husband of Paulette M. (Benkovic) Hettenbach. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in October. Charles was born in Bethlehem, a son of the late Charles F. Sr. and Catherine (Moyer) Hettenbach. He retired from Kraft Foods Inc. in 1988, where he was employed for 16 years as a production and distribution supervisor. He was a member of Calvary Moravian Church, Allentown. In 1949 he enlisted in the US Navy, upon discharge he enlisted in Battery C, 213th AAA Battalion, PAARNG and in 1952 his unit was federalized for the Korean War. He was the Founding Curator of the 213th Regiment Museum in Allentown. Charles was a former commander of American Legion Post 576, Allentown. Survivors: Wife; sons, Charles F. III and his wife, Melissa, of Saylorsburg, Scott and his wife, Laura, of Bangor, Ron Anderson and his wife, Lori, of Orefield; daughters, Karen Cambiotte and her husband, Hank, of Stroudsburg, Kathy Hutchins and her husband, Steve, of Ohio, Pam Laman and her husband, Dave, of Palmyra; seven grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Trexler Funeral Home, Inc., 1625 Highland St., Allentown. Burial with military honors at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
