Eleanor Misenhimer, 85 of Allentown, PA, formerly of Northampton, PA died at her home Wednesday, February 19, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Metro and Anna (Blahut) Kesack. She was the wife of Dr. Martin D. Misenhimer with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage last June 14, 2013. Eleanor was a 1946 graduate of Liberty High School and Bethlehem Business College where she earned an Associates Degree. She went to work as a secretary in the Metallurgic Department for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for four years until she met Martin and they started their family together. Eleanor was devoted to raising her children and nurturing her extended family. An avid bowler for over 50 years, she was a member of many leagues. Her last league play was with Club 55 at the Rose Bowl, Allentown, PA. Survivors: Surviving along with her husband are two daughters, Karen, wife of Rick Young of Saint Louis, MO, Holly, wife of Darrin Knowles of Bethlehem Twsp., PA; two sons, David Misenhimer of Washington, DC, and Martin T. Misenhimer of Allentown, PA; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Kaplan of Allentown, PA, Mrs. Jo Trusheim of Warren, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Kesack of Bethlehem, PA, Mrs. Carmen Kesack, Lexington, KY; nine grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by son, Brian Misenhimer in 1981; two brothers, William and Daniel Kesack; and a sister, Mrs. Geri Kotran in 1992. Services: A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
