Irene D. Stephens
Irene D. Stephens, 93, of Cetronia, passed away, Sunday, March 9, 2014, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Adam W. Stephens. Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Cunie H. and Dorothy E. (Bast) Warmkessel. Irene worked in the Goldsmith Purse Factory in Allentown for many years. She was a member of Cedar United Church of Christ, Cetronia, where she was a former Sunday school helper. Along with her late husband, Irene was a founder of the Cetronia Ambulance Corps in 1955, and was the financial secretary for over 25 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered in many of the fundraisers for the Cetronia Ambulance Corps. Irene was a loving wife and mother. Survivors: Son, Bruce A. Stephens of Cetronia; sister, Lucille I. Warmkessel of Cetronia; brother, Gerald E. Warmkessel of Lancaster. Services: 2 p.m., Wednesday, in the Cedar U.C.C., 3419 Broadway, Allentown (Cetronia).
