Kathryn E. Kate Filipos, 69 of Bethlehem passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 12, 2014. Kate is now with her beloved husband Michael, who entered eternal life on November 22, 2013. Kathryn was born in Bethlehem on July 10, 1944, daughter of Helen (Balogh) Ebeling Weaver of Bethlehem and the late Leroy Ebeling. She worked at Firemans Fund in Customer Service and earlier at the Bethlehem Steel Company. Kathryn was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem. Kate was a member of the Daughters of Penelope Paeon Chapter #253 in Bethlehem, she volunteered at the Boutique at the Rink and in 1975 was the First Female Manager of the City Line Peppers. Kathryn was a devoted wife, loving mother and wonderful Yiayia. She enjoyed gardening, redecorating and painting her home. Kathryns family was the most important part of her life and she treasured her time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife to her beloved Michael, dear Mother to Gretchen and loving Yiayia to Rachel and Madison. Survivors: Mother Helen, daughter Gretchen M. Wilmot, wife of Eric of Bethlehem; granddaughters Rachel and Madison; sister Mary Lutz of Nazareth; brother Leroy Ebeling of Great Falls, Montana; nieces; nephews; stepsons John, Tass, Gregory, David; stepdaughter Elizabeth; step-grandchildren Nicholas, Luke, Christopher, Elana, Eric and Jeremy.Services: Funeral Service on Friday March 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 West Union Blvd. Bethlehem. Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Allentown. Funeral arrangements are by the John F. Herron Funeral Home in Bethlehem.Contributions: .
