Jeanne Evans Marsh
Jeanne Evans Marsh, 81, of Allentown, passed away on March 13, 2014. She was the devoted wife of Charles W. Marsh, Jr., for 55 years. Born in Moosic, PA and raised in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Donald Evans, and Julia (Michalek) Evans. Jeanne graduated from Slatington High School, class of 1950. She moved to Allentown in 1951, where she attended Allentown Business School. Jeanne later attended Muhlenberg College and Cedar Crest as a non-matriculated student between 1975 and 1985. She worked in the secretarial pool at Pennsylvania Power and Light between 1952 and 1959, and then was a secretary at Garber-Horne School from 1959 to 1960. She was a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Allentown, and served as bible-school teacher and representative to the Southern Baptist conference in 1969. She also volunteered with Head Start from 1968 to 1970. Jeanne worked for Kelly Girl between 1972 and 1977 before taking a permanent position in Management Sciences as an executive secretary at Air Products from 1977 to 1992. After retiring from Air Products she established Lions Collectibles, an antiques and collectables business, at the Merchants Square in Allentown until 2005. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family, whom she loved dearly. Survivors: She is survived by her son, Andrew M. of Coplay; her daughters AnneMarie Lewis and her husband Robert Lewis of Allentown; and Julia E. Marsh and her husband Kwang Soon Kim of Seoul, South Korea; three grandchildren, Daniel Lewis, Brian Lewis, and Michele Lewis; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Swavely of Billings, Montana Services: Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. Friends and family may call Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. www.jsburkholder.com.
