George J. Medzerian Sr. Obituary
Medzerian, Sr., George J.George J. Medzerian, Sr. 92, formerly of Wescosville and Mountain Top, died March 21, 2014 in Willow Valley Lake Side, Willow Street, PA. He was the husband of the late Theresa A. "Terry" ( Ash ) Medzerian. Born in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Kerkor and Anna ( Nalbandian ) Medzerian. He was employed by Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Allentown, as a Senior Manufacturing Manager for 15 years, retiring in 1986. After retiring, he was self employed for 11 years as an International Consulting Engineer, serving liquefied natural gas clients of the OPEC countries and the Pacific Rim. A graduate of Airman Tech, Springfield, MA, he joined Northeast Airlines as a Flight Engineer Instructor assigned to the U.S. Air Transport Command, North Atlantic, Presque Isle, Maine. In 1943, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was appointed to the Navy V-12 Officers Training Program at St. Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y. and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, after which he served his tour of duty in the Pacific Theatre of operations. He was an honorably discharged disabled veteran of WWII. Prior to joining Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., he was employed by the Riley Corp of Worcester, MA, as a General Manager and as a Plant Manager at Combustion Engineering Inc. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Allentown. Active throughout his life in church work, he was a Youth Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Planning Board member and served on the Board of Finance. His civic and professional associations were numerous and included ASME, ASTE, ABWA, ARCI, APIC, BSA, MAPI, , Erie Maennerchor Club, United Way, Rotary International, and the U.S. Jr. Chamber of Commerce. A trained musician, he thoroughly enjoyed music in all forms, frequently classical, jazz and opera presentation, especially at Newport, RI, Chautauqua, NY and the B.S.O. Tanglewood Program at Lennox, MA. He lived an adventurous, interesting and meaningful life. He traveled the world covering five continents extensively. He and his wife Terry enjoyed a grand togetherness, both avid readers enjoying the arts, music, sports, and humor. He was a man full of love for his family, country and his maker. He was grateful for his many blessings, relations and friendships. Survivors: Survivors: Daughter: April A. wife of David G. Olson of Lititz, PA, Sons: Dr. George J. Medzerian, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Stuart, FL, David A. Medzerian of Long Beach, CA and Paul K. Medzerian of Beltsville, MD, Daughter-In-Law: Dr. Barbara Lewis of Pensacola, FL, 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a Sister: Alice Kassabian. Services: Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11 A.M. in the Auditorium at Willow Valley Communities, 300 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, PA. Arrangements by the J.
