Franz A. Muhl Obituary
Muhl, Franz A.Franz A. Muhl 91, of Allentown, passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2014. Franz was the husband of the late Arlene F. (Windish) Muhl who passed in March of 2012. Born in Herdorf, Germany, Franz was a son of the late Clement and Maria (Frensch) Muhl. Franz worked as a Facility Engineer for 30 yrs. at Mack Trucks Inc. of Allentown prior to retiring in 1985. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII in the European Theater of Operations. He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School. Franz was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in Allentown where he a former choir member. Additionally, he was a choir member for the Lehigh Saengerbund, the Sacred Heart Church, and the Mack Trucks Choir. He was a past officer of the Lehigh Valley Professional Bowlers Association. Survivors: Surviving is his sister Mary Ann wife of Julius Koefer of Allentown, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Alphonse, and Joseph, and his sister Theresa Knauss Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday April 7, 2014 at 10:30 am in the Cathedral. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 pm in the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave., and on Monday from 9:30-10:15 am in the Cathedral vestibule. Contributions: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Franz's memory to the Cathedral Choir 1825 Turner St. Allentown, Pa. 18104.
