Obituary Condolences

Seagreaves, Jr., George F.George F. Seagreaves, Jr. 85, of Allentown, passed away Sunday April 20, 2014 peacefully in his home. He was the husband of Yachiyo H. Seagreaves. They were married for 62 years last August. George was born in Allentown the son of the late George F. Seagreaves, Sr. and Evelyn E. (Silberman) Seagreaves. He was a graduate of William Allen High School where he was a member of the boxing team and was a District XI Champion Wrestler. He was an Electronics Repairman for Bethlehem Steel for 38 years before retiring in 1990. George was a member of the U.S. Army serving as a Sergeant 1st Class with the 24th Infantry during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Allentown. He was a member of Jordan-Martin Lodge # 673 F.& A.M. and Lehigh Consistory. George was an active volunteer with the Allentown YMCA and was a member of the Silver Sneaker fitness group. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Survivors: Wife; sons, Peter G. husband of Deborah J. Seagreaves of West Lawn, PA and Kenneth husband of Judith A. Seagreaves; daughters, Rosemary A. wife of Edward Tukeva of Bethlehem Township and Karen K. wife of Thomas Newell of Allentown; brothers, Phillip husband of Elizabeth Seagreaves of Allentown and Timothy husband of Cheryl Seagreaves of Port Charlotte, FL; sisters, Patricia wife of Harold Scott of Caldwell, NJ and Mary wife of Paul Phillips of Allentown; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Jana and sister, JaniceTamborino. Services: 10:00 A.M. Thursday in the Stephens Funeral Home Inc. 1335-37 Linden St. Allentown. Call 7:00 - 8:30 P.M. Wednesday and 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in the Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
