Charlotte Denmon Obituary
Denmon, Charlotte Charlotte Gould Denmon, 94, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014 at Moravian Hall Square where she resided. She was born April 14, 1920 in Plymouth, a daughter of Joseph and Amy Low Connolly. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 1938. She graduated from the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1941. In her working life she was a private duty nurse. She also worked as a staff nurse at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. In addition she was employed by the American Red Cross. She resided in Plymouth until 1973, moved to Kingston then to Port St. Lucie, FL, and returned to Nazareth in 1998 to be closer to her sisters and brother. She was a life-long member of the Methodist church having been baptized and twice married at the Plymouth Methodist Church. She maintained her connection with that church until its closing. A skilled crafter she enjoyed creating seasonal items for her family. She had a great interest in classical music and sang with choral groups, especially in her years in Florida. She was also an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver throughout her life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Wilbur Gould, her son Robert Gould, her second husband William Denmon, and sisters Ruth Meisiner, Sally Baskin, Amy Dorshimer, and Josephine Thomas. Survivors: Surviving are her step-daughters Shirley Okupniarek (Paul), Mountain Top, and Roxie Jones (Thomas), Kingston; 5 grandchildren: Greg Okupniarek (Beth), West Chester, Jennifer Barker (Jason), Cockeysville, MD, Jonathan Jones (Janice), Summerville, SC, Kristen Savaria (Joseph), West Springfield, MA, and Nicole Jones, Philadelphia; 9 great grandchildren: Elise and Jaren Okupniarek, Jake and Reece Barker, Reed and Ryan Branton, Nora, Andrew and Lauren Savana- brother Paul, Bath, and sister Margaret Eckell, Ohio. Services: The funeral will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday from the Williams-Hagen Funeral Home, 114 W. Main Street, Plymouth with the Rev'd William S. Marshall, Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 A. M. until the time of the funeral. A memorial service will be held at Moravian Hall Square, 175 North Main Street, Nazareth, PA with the Rev'd Otto Dreydoppel, Chaplain, officiating on Monday, May 12 at 11:00 A. M. Contributions: In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Plymouth Public Library, 107 W. Main Street, Plymouth.
