Carl, Samuel G.Samuel G. Carl, 87, of Emmaus, died on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. His wife, Mildred A. (Schwartz) Carl died on July 21, 2005. Born in Powder Valley, he was the son of the late Samuel G., Sr. and Emma C. (Bartholemew) Carl. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Trexlertown. Sam was a graduate of East Greenville H.S., Class of '44 and was a Naval Veteran serving during World War II. He was employed as a crane operator at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for many years until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Macungie Fire Company. Survivors: Children, Carol Wieder and her husband Thomas of Salisbury Twp., Faye Nester and her husband Kermit of Fogelsville, Joan Keiser and her husband Gary of Coopersburg, and Jane Thompson and her husband Kenneth of Allentown; Grandchildren, Mary, Laura, Christy, Zachary and Jennifer; Sister, Edith Hangen; and Brother, Alan Carl. He was preceded in death a Granddaughter, Tara Stauffer in 1999; Sisters, Dorothy Hagemas and Anna Ziegler; and Brothers, Earl and William Carl. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
