Walter M. Brinker Obituary
Brinker, Walter MWalter M. Brinker, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Jeanette (Nothstein) Brinker, with whom he shared almost 60 years of loving marriage. Born in Easton, Walter was a son of the late Walter and Viola (Gulick) Brinker. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1944, and later attended Temple University. Walter served in the US Navy aboard the USS Fondulac during WWII, and later with the Fleet Reserve. He became a construction worker, and was a member of the IBEW and Local #367. He was a member of the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, and also enjoyed bowling in the Spare Masters Bowling League, as well as volunteering at local animal shelters. Walter and Jeanette were charter members of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors: Wife Jeanette; daughters Lori Marotta and her husband James of Broomall, Patricia Dwyer of Kearney, NJ; sisters Florence Lutes of Easton, Mildred Shoemaker of Oley; brother Edward Brinker of Easton; grand-dog Finley. Walter was predeceased by his sister Emma Jean Huff. Services: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2700 Jacksonville, Rd, Bethlehem, 18017, where friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services. Evening viewing hours will also be held at church on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
