Cook, Dr. Arnold R.Dr. Arnold R. Cook, 85, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Hyman and Dora (Gold) Cook. He was a lifetime member of Congregation Keneseth Israel, Allentown. Dr. Cook received his D.D.S. from Temple University in '55 and earned his M.S.D. from Northwestern in '59. Dr. Cook was an orthodontist, working in Bethlehem from 1959 until retiring in 2010. After serving for two years in the U.S. Air Force as a dentist at Andrews Air Force Base, he worked alongside his brother, Edward, at Bethlehem Orthodontic Associates. Dr. Cook was a founding member of the Northampton Community College Foundation board, served many years as a trustee at the college, and supervised the dental residents at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg Campus. Survivors: Children, Jeffrey E. Cook and his wife Arlene Gottschalk of Silver Spring, MD, Andrew S. Cook of Center Valley, Melissa Cook and her wife Amanda W. Smith of Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Jonathan A. Cook of Harrisburg, and Lauren E. Cook of New York, NY; grandchildren, Rayna, Eliya, Morgan, Nathaniel, and Asher Cook. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his elder children, Ralene D. Cook; and siblings, Dr. Edward Cook and Freda Cook Levitt. Services: 3:30 PM Sunday June 8, 2014 at Congregation Keneseth Israel, 2227 W. Chew Street, Allentown. Interment in Keneseth Israel Cemetery, Allentown. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
