Molchany, George E.George E. Molchany, 90, of Northampton passed away peacefully Thursday July 17, 2014 at ManorCare, Bethlehem surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Helen A. (Geosits) Molchany who died March 1, 2012. Born October 11, 1923 in Cementon and he was the son of the late Andrew and Catherine (Mayer) Molchany. He worked at the Bethlehem Steel for many years and along with his wife Helen, they owned and operated the Tobacco Village and the Quichery Sub Shop. George was a member of Queenship of Mary Church and sang on the choir for over 50 years. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy and he was a member of the Northampton Veteran of Foreign Wars post 4714. George was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a member of St. Peter & Paul Hungarian Society and the Northampton Liederkranz. Survivors: daughter: Christina , wife of Jeff Recker, of Northampton, son, Timothy and his wife Gyda, of Catasauqua, son, James and his wife Noreen, of Northampton, 7 grandchildren, Michael, Katrina, Ty, Jonathon, Jacob, Jaclyn & Nicole, 7 great grandchildren, Olivia, Rocky, Zane, Logan, Jocelyn, Ryder & Sage, sisters, Catherine Sinkovits, of Whitehall, Helen LaVenture, of Alabama, Geraldine, wife of Andrew Filipovits, of Northampton. George was predeceased by his sister, Betty. Services: A Burial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22nd at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church 1324 Newport Ave. Northampton. Family and friends may call Monday 6-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9 - 10:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home 326 E. 21st St. Northampton. Burial with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery. Online condolences may be submitted to www.reichelfuneralhome.com.
