Keinert, George E.George E. Keinert, 87, of Allentown, died August 8, 2014 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Gladys L. (Nierhaus) Keinert, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Victor and Anna (Blacker) Keinert. He worked for Exide Battery for many years, retiring in 1983. After retirement he worked for Advanced Business Equipment for over 20 years. He was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church. He honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the West Side Republican Club, Emmaus VFW, West Coplay Maennerchor, and past member of the Macungie Golf League. Survivors: Wife; Son, Dean G. Keinert and wife Elaine of Northampton; Daughter, Carol J. wife of Gerald Kuehner of Allentown; Brother, Arthur Keinert and wife Jane of Allentown; Sister, Ruth Martucci of Allentown; Grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Kuehner and Teresa Twitchell; 3 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara A. Enright. Services: Funeral Services Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 12 Noon in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd., Allentown. Viewing 11:00 to 12 Noon in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
