Raymond C. Dini
Raymond C. Dini, 81, of Allentown, died December 4, 2008 in St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown Campus. He was the husband of the late Bernadine (Sedlacek) Dini, who died in 2006. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Alphonzo and Maria (Munjone) Dini. He was a retired iron worker and an active member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church, Allentown. He was a graduate of Allentown High School, where he excelled in football. He then played semi-professional football for the Bethlehem Bulldogs and then was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles. Ray was almost immediately drafted by the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He later was inducted into the Lehigh Valley Football Hall of Fame. He was also an avid bowler and golfer. A member of the Knights of Columbus, he was also a member of Calvary Council, Allentown, and a fourth degree member of the Lehigh Valley Assembly. Survivors: Daughter, Roberta, wife of Charles W. Kulp Jr., of Allentown; son, John Dini and his wife, Julie Snell, of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Samantha and Sara Kulp and Tristan Dini. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Monday, St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church, 900 block of N. Front Street, Allentown. Calling hours will be from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton streets, Allentown and 9-10 a.m. Monday in the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
