Evelyn Rose Smith
Evelyn Rose Smith fell asleep at her home in Fogelsville Wednesday evening with family by her side. She was the widow of Carl H. Smith. She was ninety years old and a long time resident of Fogelsville. Born in Freemansburg she was a daughter of the late Robert and Elsie (Weaver) Applegate. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Fogelsville and was a member of both Fogelsville and Trexlertown Senior Citizens. Evelyn had a beautiful soul and a heart of gold. She was always there for us to lean on and to make us laugh. She will always have a special place in our hearts. We will miss her and love her always. Shine down on us with all your might, to make our days brighter. Survivors: five children, Barbara wife of James Hersh of Schnecksville, Carl Barry and wife Marlene of Fogelsville, Susan wife of the late Richard Reph of Fogelsville, Gregory and wife Bonnie of Lancaster, and Kevin and wife Cathy of New Ringgold; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services: 11 a.m., Monday, April 5, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. MaryAnn Hamm officiating. Private visitation. Interment will be at Fogelsville Union Cemetery. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville.
