Marjorie E. Faust
Marjorie E. Faust, 93, formerly of East Federal St., Allentown, passed away at Sacred Heart Senior Living by Saucon Creek in Center Valley on Sunday, October 24, 2010. She was the wife of the late Elvin Faust who died in 1996. Marjorie retired from the Allentown School District as Assistant to the Librarian at Dieruff High School in 1982. She was an avid lifelong swimmer who last competed and won top medals at the National Senior Citizens Olympics in St. Louis, MO. She was an orchid enthusiast and one of the founders of the Lehigh Valley Orchid Society. Mrs. Faust and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world on jungle orchid hunting expeditions to collect orchids and bring them back to their hothouse. She served for many years as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Crime Watch. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Allentown all of her life. Marjorie was a member of the 1934 Class of Allentown High School. Survivors: Sons, Dennis E. Faust of Mt. Joy, PA, Bruce D. Faust and his wife Audrey F. of Allentown; grandchildren, Jennifer Mullins, wife of Thomas Mullins of Jenkintown, PA, Heather Faust of Lancaster, Amber Faust Love of Boston, MA; three great-granddaughters in Jenkintown; brother, J. Edward Didra of Allentown; step-brother, Dale Didra of Catasauqua. Services: Private Services and interment at St. Marks Cemetery, Allentown.
