Judith A. Schwartz
Judith A. Schwartz, 71, of Emmaus, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. Her husband, LaMar Schwartz, died on August 18, 1998. Born in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Connie (Schiffelbein) Deghand. She was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church, Emmaus, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Womens Auxiliary. Judith was employed by Rodale Press of Emmaus for 20 years in the book division, retiring in 1993. She was a former member of Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Penn State Club, the Catholic War Vets and the Mercantile Club. Survivors: Children, Beth Iobst and her husband Ted of Emmaus, Bruce A. Schwartz and his wife Agnes of Nazareth, Daniel R. Schwartz and his wife Jan of Jim Thorpe, and Terri A. Ferrizzi and her husband Eric of Emmaus; grandchildren, Ted, Katie, Angeline, Nicole, Samantha, Gary, Laurie, Joshua, Courtney, Brittany, Kayla, and Erica; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Shea and Victor; siblings, Richard, Timothy, Marge Wieder and Patricia Hartman. She was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Laros in 1993 and siblings, Leonard, Robert, and Raymond Deghand, and Lillian Stoudt. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Monday, St. Anns Catholic Church, Emmaus. Call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Emmaus. Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: 6D Dementia Unit at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, 350 S. Cedarbrook Road, Allentown PA 18104.
