Wasyl Chomyn
Wasyl (Michael) Chomyn, 90, of Summit Nursing Home passed away on May 21, 2011. He was the husband of Helen (nee Macenko). They were married 34 years. He retired from Penndot at age 65. He was predeceased by his first wife, Theresa. Survivors: In addition to his wife; he is survived by daughters, Monica Seger of Deining, Germany, Dr. Anne Chomyn of Altadena, CA and Clare Chomyn and (Ihor Chymych) of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by stepson Dennis Eckhart and wife Nancy of Olympia, WA; step-daughter, Karen Minnig and husband Allan of Northampton, PA; along with grandsons, Gunther and Harold Seger and Michael Chymych; and stepgrandchildren, Tammy Vash, and husband David Vash, Shawn Eckhart, Danielle King and husband Brian and Nicole Nguyen and husband Thanh; He is also survived by nine great- grandchildren. Services: Parastas at 7 p.m. Wed. at the Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton. Panachida at 9:15 a.m. Thursday followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Vladimir Greek Catholic Church, 101 Lehigh Ave. Palmerton. Call 6-9 p.m. Wed. and 8-9:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment in St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Fox Chase, PA. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the , c/o Ovsak Funeral Home, Lehighton, PA.
