Joseph L. Jakubco
Joseph L. Jakubco, 72, of Bethlehem Township, died Thursday, November 10, 2005 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born March 18, 1933 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Gdovin) Jakubco. He was the loving husband of Marie T. (Zullo) Jakubco of Bethlehem Township. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary September 11.Joseph graduated from Penn State University, class of 1957, with an associates degree in engineering. He was employed by the Lower Saucon Township Municipal Authority as an engineer for more than 10 years. Throughout his career, he held various other engineering positions within the Lehigh Valley. Currently, he was working for the Bethlehem Area School District in their maintenance department. Joseph also served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where he enjoyed serving as an usher. Joseph will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, great father, loving grandfather and the type of a person who was always willing to drop everything in order to help his fellow man. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Marie, he will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Joanne M. and her husband, Michael David Rooney, of Bath; sister, Helen Lopez of Bethlehem; two grandchildren, Connor James and Mia Lin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Ramsberger. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the church. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Connell Funeral Home Inc. is handling all arrangements. Contributions: May be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem 18020.

My deepest sympathy to the family.I was saddened by the news.I am the neighbor nurse who procured post-heart-attack printed insructions from St. Luke's hospital decades ago when Joe had that attack that left minimal damage.So glad for the many years he could remain with the family following that attack.
