John Englehardt Obituary

John L. Englehardt
John L. Linny Englehardt, 91 years, of Kutztown, passed away May 6, 2012 at Kutztown Manor. He was the husband of Mildred L. (Burkhart) Englehardt for 68 years this past October. Born in Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late John and Emma (Wagner) Englehardt. For over 50 years John sold cutlery in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He was a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Kutztown. John enlisted in the United States Air Force in November of 1940 and honorably and faithfully served his country during WWII as a pilot. John qualified in multiple aircrafts and was subsequently recalled during the Korean War, as a flight instructor. John was in the Air Force reserves until 1962. Survivors: Wife; son, Gary L. and wife Gwenn of Kutztown; daughter, Loretta, wife of Robert Oplinger of New Tripoli; grandchildren, Jason and Benjamin Oplinger; great-grandchildren, Dilana and Gavin; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard; and sisters, Madeline and Miriam. Services: 3 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Keller Funeral Homes, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville with the Rev. Rodney Bartman officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Interment will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 12 at Forrest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading. Contributions: May be made to the Bethel Church of Nazarene, 125 Koffee Lane, Kutztown, 19530. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.kellerfuneralhomes.com
