Calvin R. Erickson
Calvin R. Erickson, 87, of Albrightsville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, May 11 in his home. He was the husband of Sandra (Dunbar) Erickson. They had observed their 21st wedding anniversary in January. Born in Collingdale, PA, he was a son of the late Edwin and Catherine (Reinhardt) Erickson. He had owned and operated an Exxon station in East Stroudsburg for 35 years, retiring in 1990 and previously he had worked for Curtis Publishing Co. in Philadelphia for many years. He had also worked in the oil and plumbing and heating businesses. He was a WW II Navy veteran serving aboard the USS South Dakota, the USS American Legion and the USS John Land battleships. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Megan Hall and her husband Jason and Monica Surroukh and her husband Othman, all of Philadelphia, Lisa Thomas and her husband Michael of Nazareth, Cathy Hunt and her husband Larry of Scranton and Stephanie Stahler and her husband John of Chesapeake, VA; a son, Michael Mesics of Bethlehem; four grandchildren and his beloved pets, Baby and Scooter. Services: will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
