Dale L. Ezrow
Dale L. Ezrow, 82, of Coopersburg, died Saturday, August 11, 2012. He was the husband of June H. Ezrow to whom he was married for 59 years. Born on April 16, 1930 in Churubusco, NY he was a son of the late Alka J. and Merrine Patnode Ezrow. Dale was a veteran of the Korean War having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from the Teterboro School of Aeronautics and was an aircraft mechanic, and later manager, at Aeroflex Airport in Andover, NJ. In 1971 Dale became the chief instructor and director of the Aviation Maintenance Technology program at the Upper Bucks Vocational Technical School. The Federal Aviation Administration awarded Dale a certificate of appreciation for his twenty years of service as the schools lead administrator. After retirement from the school he continued to be active in the field as a trainer and an FAA re-certification instructor in Trenton, NJ for Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and the New Jersey State Police among others. For numerous years Dale served as president of the Delaware Valley chapter of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA). He was also a volunteer fireman for the Sparta, New Jersey Fire Department for 17 years. In 2008 he received the prestigious Charles Taylor Master Mechanic award. Charles Taylor was the Wright Brothers first mechanic and the FAA gives the award for fifty years of dedicated service in aviation safety. Survivors: Wife, June; children, D. James (and wife Michele), Brian (and wife Sharon), Laureen (and husband David Nelson), Carol (and husband Kraig Kress); grandchildren, Adrienne (and husband Michael Bronisz), Cale, Jocelin, Thor, Dane, Grant, Zachary, Brianna, Marissa, Stefanie and Andrew; sisters, Mary Greene (and husband Hiram), Shirley Herd, Betty Haley; brother, Robert J. Ezrow (and wife Dorothy); and several nieces and nephews and their families. Services: Private services were held Wednesday, August 15, at Norcross-Weber Funeral Home in Coopersburg, PA. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Teterboro Airport Community Benefit Fund at P.O. Box 5064 South Hackensack, NJ 07606 in memory of Dale Ezrow. This fund benefits students from local area high schools who are college bound and majoring in aviation related curriculum.
