William L. Thomas
William L. Thomas, 65, of Northampton passed away peacefully in his home on November 1, 2012 with his wife, Sandra Smith Achey Thomas, at his side after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 23, 1947 in Scranton. He loved partying with his wife and his friends. He and his wife would spend two nights a week playing their favorite dance music and talking into the wee hours of the morning. He loved to dance. His favorite music was playing when he made his progression to a new life. His wife was lying by his side caressing his head, face, and arms. This was their last party. When the music was over, he took his last peaceful breath at 11:30 p.m. He worked at various construction companies, but his passion was designing rooms with mood lighting and making custom furniture. His favorite hobby was H.O. trains and train layouts, for which he made custom-made buildings and shrubbery with LED lighting. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors: He is survived by a son; two stepsons, Max Achey, Michael Achey and wife, Laurie; stepdaughter, Sherry Alfaro; mother-in-law, Ellen Roth; sister-in-law, Mary Faryna and husband, Rick; nephews; predeceased by his parents and son, James.
