Dorothy Leona Butler
Dorothy Leona Butler, 97, of Emmaus and formerly of Lansdale, passed away November 22, 2012 at her home. Born January 29, 1915 in Philadelphia, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Chester A. and Bertha (Memminger) Umstead. Dorothy was a member of Lansdale United Methodist Church for 50 years and was also active with Daughters of America. For many years, Dorothy served her community as state counselor. She will be greatly missed. Survivors: She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy A. Butler of Emmaus; two nieces, Barbara Rodriguez of New Hope and Sally Rambo and her husband, Edmund, of North Wales; a nephew, Gerald Powel and his wife, Winifred, of NJ; and her cousin, Roxanna Schlimm of Lansdale. She is also survived by four great-nieces, Stephanie Wollman and her husband, Peter, and Jennifer, Kathryn, and Dawn Rambo; and a great-nephew, Lt. Col. Stephen Rodriguez USMC; and several great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Butler, who passed away as a child, and two sisters, Margaret Gangloff and Eleanor Faylor. Services: Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where friends may greet the family after 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Wales.
