Raymond J. Mihalik
Raymond J. Mihalik, 85, of Allentown died on May 10, 2013 at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. He was the husband of H. Jayne (Lindenmuth) Mihalik; they were married 66 years on November 2. Raymond was born in Allentown on August 12, 1927, son of the late John and Lena (Winkler) Mihalik. He served 2 years in the US Navy aboard the USS Marias during WW II. After the war Raymond returned to night school and graduated from Allentown High School in 1947. He was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church in Emmaus. Raymond began his career in the textile industry. He first worked at Penn State Mills before becoming a supervisor at Lehigh Dyeing and Finishing, Syntex and then Fairtex in Allentown. He later worked as a custodian at both Air Products and the Allentown School District. Raymond was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their various sporting endeavors. He was an avid sports fan of both the New York Giants and the San Francisco Giants. Survivors: Wife, H. Jayne Mihalik; three sons, Dr. Brian J. Mihalik, husband of Linda of Columbia, SC, S. Michael Mihalik, husband of Virginia of Allentown and Christopher M. Mihalik, husband of Gina of Schnecksville; six grandchildren, Gregory, Jennifer, Michael, Mark, Valerie and Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Jared; brothers, Bernard F. Mihalik and John R. Mihalik both of Allentown. Services: Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11 a.m., in the Sell-Herron Funeral Home, 1145 Lehigh Street, Allentown. There will be a viewing on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the Funeral Home. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown.
