Susan Sue Jane (Rickenbach) Lauer, 70, of Pompano Beach, FL, lost her brave and courageous battle with breast cancer on June 29 with her loving daughter, Kiva, by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Lauer in 2006, with whom she resided in Schnecksville, PA for over 25 years. Born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Albert and Mary Rickenbach, she attended Cumberland Valley High School. Sue was a stay-at-home-mom, and was involved in Avon, Mary Kay and Nutri-Metics throughout the years. Her true passion was collecting antiques. She also loved gardening and being by the water, whether it was her pool or the beach, Sue loved soaking up the sun. Her love for the outdoors and her generous nature of always helping others earned her the nickname Susie Sunshine, and her warm, bright smile will be missed by her family and friends. Survivors: Son, Jeff and wife Ahisha of Haines City, FL; daughters, Dawn and husband Tor Maynard of Allentown, PA, Kiva and husband Dean Ferrerio of Port St. Lucie, FL; brothers, Douglas and wife Lynne of Fort Myers, FL, Edward and wife Molly of Enola, PA; sister, Judith Buxton of Key West, FL; grandchildren whom Sue loved dearly, Gregory, Melissa, Mia, Olivia and Vincent. Services: A celebration of life to be held Saturday, September 21, in Pompano Beach, FL. Please contact family closer to date for details.
