Joseph Barilla Obituary
Joseph M. Barilla, 54, of Coopersburg, PA died Monday, November 18, 2013, after fighting a courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer. Born in Levittown, PA. Joe was the son of Charlotte (Bossard) Barilla of Lehighton and the late Richard Barilla. He was the husband of Lynn W. (Weidlich) Barilla for 28 years and the loving father to daughter, Megan of Warrington, PA and Jacob of Coopersburg. Joe was a graduate of Lehighton Area High School and attended Williamsport Community College. He worked for Sysco Food and his passion was food and cooking. Joe was known as the Wingman for the great food he cooked up at the Southern Lehigh High School sporting events. You could always find Joe working in the garden, or making homemade wine. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Coopersburg, where he ran the parish center for four years. He was a member of the Nis Hollow Hunting Club, Lehighton and was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Survivors: Wife, daughter, son, sisters, Debra wife of Brad Doll and Kathy Millen wife of Nik Millen both of Lehighton. Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church 5050 St. Josephs Road, Coopersburg. Call 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. I'm so sorry to learn this news. Joe was a good man, kind in spirit and deed. He was one of the few people I really liked the 7 years I lived in Nis Hollow, always happy to see him coming up the driveway. Rest in Peace, big guy.

Lynnie, Megan and Jake,
We can't begin to express how badly we feel for you all as we can't even express our sadness and we know your's is so much more. We lost a BEST friend and you lost one of the best Men we all have ever been SO lucky to Love. Just know this- we LOVE all of you so so much. Char, Amy, Justin, Callie and Joe's Godson Robert. All the people that knew him lost a wonderful and irreplaceable piece of their heart this week. Hearts, puddle jumping and whipping up a meal with, well, anything.

Lynn, Megan, & Jacob,
I can't think of a time that I saw your husband/father that he was not smiling. He appeared to love life as much as anyone I know. And, he was a gentleman. Most recently, Anne and I saw him several times in the infusion lab and he was such an inspiration to us. As always, he was most concerned about others. I can't deny the sadness and deep sense of loss, but I am thankful that I got to know him. We should all be more like him.

Uncle Joe will be sadly missed. It wasn't a holiday unless there were bagels & lox & homemade wine! We will miss his delicious wings, deep-fried turkeys and funnel-cakes!
