Eleanor R. Wavrek Kublic, 91, of Luther Crest, Allentown, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 in the Luther Crest Health Care Center, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Berthold K. Wavrek and Shimer E. Kublic. Eleanor was born in Palmerton a daughter of the late Earl M. and Ada N. (Krill) Reitz. She was a graduate of Palmerton High School Class of 1940. Eleanor was a Process Checker for the former Western Electric, AT & T, Lucent and Agere for 24 years before retiring. Eleanor was a member of the Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville. She was an original member and two year President of the Womens committee of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra. She was the originator of the Allentown Symphony Ball project as a fund raiser for the Allentown Symphony. Eleanor was honored in 2011 for 60 years of service to the Allentown Symphony. She was a member of the Community Concert Board and was a Pocono Choral Society Performance Coordinator at Luther Crest since 1989. Eleanor was a former Democratic Committee Woman in the late 40s and early 50s. She was an avid sports fan and always encouraged sportsmanship. Survivors: Sons, Wayne P. husband of Gloria Wavrek of Tampa, FL, Philip B. husband of Jean Wavrek of Bath, Jon R. Wavrek and his Fiancee Marie of Whitehall, Sousa B. Wavrek of Emmaus and Stafford B. Wavrek of Emmaus, brother, David E. Reitz of Schnecksville, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Lois E. Reitz. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Stephens Funeral Home Inc. 1335-37 Linden Street, Allentown. Call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall. A memorial service at Luther Crest will be announced at a later date. www.stephensfuneral.com.
