To the family of Alverta I want to express my condolences. She was a lady of grace. I enjoyed worshipping and serving on committees with her at St. Matthew's Lutheran. After moving to Lancaster I had phone conversations with her and as recently as less than a week before her death, I had a handwritten note from her. I will treasure the note. To all of you special family members, God blessed you with her life.

To Alverta's Family,
I came to know Alverta through my role as a newspaper photographer covering Bethlehem Area Public Library book sales. Her dedication to that initiative was exemplary, and kindness and spirit wonderful. She will be missed by those whose paths she crossed. My deepest sympathy for your loss.
