Vaughn E. Hobson

Hobson, Vaughn EVaughn E. Hobson, 86, of New Tripoli, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Whitehall Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of the late Anne Hobson. Born in Mount Carmel, Vaughn was the son of the late Charles H. and Katie (Zimmerman) Hobson. He grew up in Freemansburg, and served in the US Army after high school. He then worked in the Safety Department for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for over 50 years until retiring in 1998. Vaughn was a very kind and generous man, and could often be seen at the "Green Shack" in Weissport. He loved being with his family and friends, and enjoyed playing golf and taking long walks on the beach. Vaughn was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Bethlehem. Survivors: nephew William D. Hobson; great-nephews Curtis and Cory; great-niece Colleen; Kathy Snyder and her children John and Alyssa, with whom he resided; and the rest of his extended family. Vaughn was predeceased by his wife, Anne, and his brother William C. Hobson. Services: A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 2, in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, where friends may call from 10 AM until time of services.
