Stanley J. Jakubowski

Obituary

Stanley J. Jakubowski, 70, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 20 in his home. He was married to June (Brunner) Jakubowski for 46 years. He received mechanical and electrical engineering degrees from Lehigh University and owned Jakubowski Consultants before retiring. He formerly taught for Penn State University, Northampton Community College and Lehigh University, where he had been an advisor for the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stanley and Stephanie (Matuszewski) Jakubowski. He was a deacon for First Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem, where he was a tenor in the choir for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Before joining the Bach Choir, he managed the Saucon Male Chorus. Survivors: Daughters, Leslie Ferry of Medford Lakes, N.J., Linda Hashemi of Randolph, N.J., Laura Aponte of Dallas, Texas; brother, John of Elkins Park, Montgomery County; eight grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday in the church. No calling hours. Arrangements, Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Contributions: Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company, Bethlehem.
